Several North Carolina golf courses are lending a helping hand with the FORE & Feed event to benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina in support of Moore County’s BackPack Pals.
The event will take place at 15 courses in the sandhills Feb. 1-7. Golfers will be allowed to wear blue jeans during their round. To participate, golfers will pay the course’s published rate. In addition, a donation of $10 and one of the requested single-serve food items will allow a golfer to participate. Those food items need are single-serve cereal, nutrition bars, applesauce, juice boxes and rasins.
BackPack Pals of Moore County was created eight years ago to meet the needs of children who are known to have little or northing to eat on the weekend. After beginning in just one school with 25 children, the program has expanded to 24 schools with over 1,100 children in the program.
