Description
Recently transformed and completely reshaped, the golf course at Sky Valley incorporates natural beauty, playability and excitement for those at all levels. While preserving the original routing, golf course architect Bill Bergin recently rejuvenated this widely-recognized course by improving its overall strategy with the addition of bunkers and new water features, lengthening it by nearly 500 yards, and reducing par to 71. Bergin also added a fifth set of tees to provide more options for players, and incredibly, the new course can be stretched to over 7,000 yards from the back tees.
To enhance the natural features of the course, numerous mountain streams were carefully restored. Hundreds of newly planted hardwoods, plus scores of rhododendrons also marked the launch of a new landscape plan that will continue to add to the aesthetics of this already lush course. The course and putting surfaces are newly-improved, as well, with the addition of Alpha bent grass and A-1 bent grass, one of golf’s truest putting surfaces. In addition, the practice facilities have been reconfigured to include warm-up and short-game practice areas.
Come see for yourself how the new changes, additions and improvements to the golfing facilities at Sky Valley make mountain golf more beautiful, playable and fun than ever. For more information, please take a moment to call us today at 800-437-2416 to arrange your visit or tee times.
GolfNorthCarolina.com note: We wanted to include Sky Valley in our database, but to force the programming to do so, we had to identify the resort as being in Highlands, NC. It is actually a few miles south of Highlands in Sky Valley Georgia.
