Green renovation project approved at Wilmington Municipal

The Wilmington NC Municipal Golf Course received the go-ahead on the green renovation project during Tuesday night’s Wilmington City Council meeting, according to reports by WECT and WWAY.

The council voted to start accepting bids for the project, which will be paid by golf funds. The project may also raise green fees to help cover the cost.

During the work, the course will close down and April, and will not reopen until September. While the course is closed, work will be done to restore the greens on the Donald Ross course for the first time. In addition to the work on the greens, the project will restore all approaches, bunkers, irrigation improvements and improved drainage.
