On September 28 and 29, approximately 96 amateur golfers over the age of 65 who are also residents of the state of North Carolina will head to Morehead City Country Club to compete against one another in the 3rd North Carolina Super Senior Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association. These men, who must also be members of clubs that are members of the Carolinas Golf Association in order to qualify, will participate in 36 holes of stroke play before the champion is decided. The top 30 finishers will be awarded with merchandise and the winner will also receive a trophy. Last year’s winner, John Deluise of Raleigh North Carolina, enjoyed a two-stroke victory over Hendersonville’s Tom Hadley at the Country Club of Salisbury in Salisbury NC.

Located along North Carolina’s scenic coast, Morehead City Country Club provides players with a laidback environment in which they can test their skills on immaculate bent grass greens while enjoying picturesque views of the Atlantic. The 18-hole course opened in 1952 and features 6,345 years of golf from the longest tee.
