Some 305 men, each of whom must be 30 or older and a legal resident of North Carolina, will be competing in this 54-hole tournament which will take place on Carolina Country Club’s par-71 course. Several renowned North Carolina amateurs, including N.C. Golf Hall of Famer Paul Simson, former professional Sherrill Britt, 2008 champion Uly Grisette, and 2007 winner Gray Robinson, will be present. The format is 54 holes of stroke play, and the field will be cut to the 60 lowest scorers after 36 holes. The winner can look forward to taking home a trophy and various prizes as well as having the privilege of possessing the P.J. Boatwright, Jr. Memorial Trophy until the champion of next year’s tournament is decided. This is certain to be an exciting event!
