Ole Still Golf Club

    Description

    Description

It’s been said that North Carolina provides some of the world’s foremost golf course terrain. And there’s definite proof at Ole Still Golf Club located near Hickory.
Formerly known as Rivercrest Golf Club, Ole Still has been completely renovated and will open for full play in 2014. The course is a full-length 18-hole course built on undulating terrain bordered by hardwoods and evergreens.

There’s ample room off the tee so driver can be used on most holes. The challenge comes from the uphill, downhill, and side hill lies. The greens are also undulating.
To provide the finest putting greens in the area, we used a new strain of grass on our greens. It’s called Sunday Bermudagrass and it’s the same grass used at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte. Quail Hollow is the site of the Wells Fargo Championship on the PGA Tour. In 2017, the course will host The PGA Championship. The fairways are 419 Bermudagrass that’s used in areas like Pinehurst.

The 4th hole is the longest par-4 on the golf course at 480 yards from the tips. While that’s a difficult par for most golfers, the course also features several risk-reward holes where birdies are possible.

You’ll especially enjoy the 11th hole, a narrow but drivable par-4 where and eagle is possible. And the 8th is a roller-coaster par-5 that’s one of the most challenging holes in North Carolina’s Foothills.

Whatever your standard, you’ll enjoy a fun and challenging round at Ole Still.
Memberships are available and the club will be open for public play in spring 2014. The practice facilities are currently open.
