The 27,000 acres of public land that surrounds us guarantees some of the best viewscapes on the planet. The microclimate on our mountain is phenomenal – 10 degrees cooler in the summer with a lovely breeze, and believe it or not, 10 degrees warmer on many days in the winter. Cold air sinks off the mountain and settles in the valley below, and the air movement keeps the frosts down. That’s why we stay open all winter!
