Looking for a great restaurant while in town for the US Open in Pinehurst? There is an app for that.
The Pinehurst-Southern Pines-Aberdeen Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) are urging golf fans and residents alike to use YILLIO to help connect with local businesses during the U.S. Men’s and Women’s Open Championships.
Using an iPhone or Android mobile phone and YILLIO’s free app, users are able to search for and connect with restaurants, shopping, recreation/ entertainment, and even find the cheapest gas, whether it’s on their commute to work, a weekend getaway, or traveling to and from US Open Championships.
“Golf fans around North Carolina and the country all recognize this as a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of this unique golf experience,” stated Caleb Miles, CEO of the CVB. “Over 400,000 golf enthusiast will be attending but most will use lodging outside of our local area, travelling to and from the championships over the 14-day period. Using Yillio, spectators will not only be able to navigate to convenient parking areas but will also be able to search ahead along their routes to find local restaurants, retail, gas and even available golf tee times those two weeks.”
Yillio’s patented route-based search engine and social map uses location, navigation, and a variety of contextual inputs to match mobile users with relevant places, offers, discounts, and consumer shared information along plotted or contemplated routes. Merchants can sign-up to participate without cost and can create a real-time advertising message for commuters and drivers before they pass them by.
YILLIO was launched and first promoted by the Greater Newark Convention and Visitors Bureau to visitors attending activities during the 2014 Super Bowl Week.
The events conducted by the United States Golf Association (USGA) will be held the weeks of June 9 and June 16, 2014 on the famed Pinehurst No.2 course. This is the first time in the history both US Open golf championships will be held on back-to-back weeks on the same course.
