Yet another former NC State Wolfpack golf team member was given his PGA Tour card and will be joining the three other former NC Staters on this year’s tour! Garth Mulroy was one of 25 Nationwide Tour members awarded a PGA Tour card following last season’s amazing final results. He joins other former NC State WolfPack golfers Tim Clark, Carl Peterson, and Mark Turnesa who are all on the PGA Tour currently.

It was certainly his final standings during last season that launched him into his PGA career. Mulroy finished tied for 21st in the rankings and 14th on the money list for the Nationwide Tour. During last season, in 2009, Mulroy won the South Georgia Classic, finishing with an amazing 13-under; he also finished in the top-five in three other major events and was in the top-25 list 10 times.

There was never a doubt that Mulroy would go far in his golf career. While he was at state, he was an All-American and All-ACC selection in 2002. Also, he is currently listed as the #4 player in all of the school’s history in regards to his career stroke average, 72.62. We will certainly be watching out for Mulroy and wish him the best in his future golf career.
