If you are looking for a taste of Scottish golf, look no further then the Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh NC. Lonnie Poole Golf Course at North Carolina State is set apart from the rest of the region’s courses with unique features.
The course was designed by the Arnold Palmer Design Group. Designers made certain to use the natural landscape in the design, while bringing the elements of a traditional Scottish design to Raleigh. Elevation changes also await golfers on the course.
With 419 bermudagrass on the fairways and an A1/A4 creeping bentgrass mix on the greens, golfers will find a rough that will punish you if you hit an errant shot. Bunkers are a trademark of the course with their irregular shapes.
Lonnie Poole Golf Course is an Audubon Signature golf course that is designed to challenge golfers of every level. The course will host a NCAA D-I Regional Tournament in 2014.
