One of North Carolina golf’s hidden treasures is about to reopen for full play in 2014.
The Ole Still Golf Club, formerly the Rivercrest Golf Club, is set to reopen for play in March, and to become a key player in Hickory golf. The Karl Litten designed course is a full-lengh 18-hole tournament course that takes advantage of the piedmont’s landscape and the beauty of the region.
The course will feature Sunday Bermudagrass on the greens, which is the same grass used by Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte NC which hosts the Wells Fargo Championships as well as the 2017 PGA Championships. The fairways will use 419 Bermudagrass, which is used in well-known golf areas such as Pinehurst NC.
While the name has changed, the course will still feature Rivercrest’s distinct holes like the par-5 No. 8 that has been called one of the most challenging holes in the foothills due to it’s roller coaster nature.
The club will be semiprivate, and has some incredible introductory membership offers that feature benefits over $1700.In addition to golf, the club will be able to host fantastic social events such as weddings.
