It’s the time of year again. Hickory North Carolina’s most famous golf event is back with a new name. The Ensure Classic at Rock Barn Presented by Kia Motors will be taking place at the end of this month at Rock Barn Golf and Spa in Conover, NC. This 54-hole stroke play tournament will take place on the Jones Course, an 18-hole course with 7, 046 yards of golf which was designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

This year, 78 players are expected to compete for the $262,500 of the $1.75 million purse that is set aside for the winner. Ned Jarrett, NASCAR legend and resident of Hickory NC, will be presiding as the Honorary Chairman, and the exciting tournament will be broadcast on the Golf Channel. A lengthy list of charities will benefit from the event, as all net proceeds are set aside for community organizations like the Hickory Soup Kitchen, Safe Harbor Rescue Mission, the Caldwell County United Way, the Children’s Advocacy Center, and many more.

The Ensure Classic will commence on Monday, September 27, at 7:00 a.m. and continue through Sunday, October 3, when the winner will be announced. The Golf Channel will be covering the event from October 1-3.
