Wells Fargo Championship to remain in North Carolina

The Wells Fargo Championship is set to stay in the North Carolina golf scene.

According to the Charlotte Observer, the PGA Tour is set to announce that the Wells Fargo Championship will remain at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte NC through 2019. The lone exception will be in 2017 when the tournament will be played on the beautiful Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington as Quail Hollow is set to host the 2017 PGA Championship.

The PGA is set to announce the agreements on Tuesday.

The Wells Fargo Championship has quickly risen through the ranks of the non-major tournaments since its debut in 2003. After last year’s tournament, the Quail Hollow course went through numerous renovations for the future as well as the PGA Championship.

The 2014 version of the tournament is set for May 1-4.
